Dubbed “Ox Alpha,” the system arrived with zero corporate branding, a generous free-tier window, and an audacious claim: it operates as a production-ready reasoning agent built for sustained coding workloads.
Within hours, the tech community was scrambling to benchmark it, and the results have sparked a massive guessing game across the industry.
The excitement isn’t just about another free tool. Ox Alpha is shipping with frontier-class specifications. It supports a sprawling 1-million-token context window, processes text, image, and video inputs, and guarantees zero data retention.
High-profile endorsements poured in almost immediately, including a nod from Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, who tested the model and publicly called it “very impressive.”
